Walks into crowd. *Immediately gets anxiety, no matter how much of hyping up I've done to myself.*
Discussion
In those moments, when you notice that anxiety come up, are you able to engage with that part as though it’s a child that you’re raising? Where his response to the world is understandable based on his experiences and perceptions, but isn’t an accurate view and therefore an opportunity for you to “parent” this part? (This can be applied to many thought patterns beyond anxiety, of course).
If that resonates with you, there’s potential there; it’s subtle but powerful work.

🫂 same.
A DJ with social anxiety is a weird conundrum.
Not really. I'm a total social butterfly, but I prefer to work at parties, than mingle, so that I can sit off to the side or stand behind a bar or something, and people come talk to me.
Need them to form an orderly line and not mob me or force me to sit in the middle of dinner table with 20 people. 😅
I have a similar oddment. Stand me behind a desk - having to meet 100’s of people I don’t know one at a time and I’m all good , actually loose myself in the need to be present and really enjoy it. Now put me in a room of 20 with no order and I’m a nervous wreck, actually loose my mind 🤷♂️
Outgoing introverts have it hard. 😅

Picture everyone in the room is sat on the toilet. Don't sit down. Smile.
I know what you mean, though! Good luck.
