I guess that's a hard problem. Pauses contribute to a good story, too.

I thought that LLMs could maybe shorten books. We all know a dozen versions of Little Red Riding Hood that differ in lenth, shortest to longest by at least 5x but I suspect LLMs are still not good at producing short versions from long versions for longer content. It's too easy to drop important content that's not driving the story explicitly.
