Being triggered is on you. There was something in what they said or did that caused your belief system or ego to feel threatened. It indicates a fragility in the way you perceive the world. It is not their fault that you were triggered.

When you're triggered, see it as an opportunity to heal that fragile or hurt part within you. To find that belief that is hard to maintain & let it go.

Learning to let it go is important for your growth.

It was never personal, never about you.

I'm saying this as an autist, who still finds himself triggered & frequently triggers others. I'm learning to be less disagreeable by working through my own triggers.

This is exactly right.

I work with triggers, environmental interactions and other tools to understand concerning behaviours, if most people would understand what you just wrote… I wouldn’t have a job.

I look forward to the day when your job is to maintain the herb garden & cook pizzas.
