I don't think it exists yet. Most people want a passive experience where the most they have to do is tap or swipe and the app learns what to throw their way as fast as possible. It can't come with ideology. It has to explore their brain for dopamine.

Yeah, I think most people actually do want a recommendation algorithm. I saw Damus branding themselves with not having an addictive algorithm, but I’m pretty sure a lot of people prefer using a platform with a recommendation algorithm compared to an app without any, like Nostr clients that just shows from newest to oldest posts.
As long as the user is in control of the algorithm, I think it’s totally fine. I just don’t want to be forced into using one that I can’t adjust or disable like on TikTok.
Yes and from what I've seen forcing or choice doesn't even enter their mind. It's what are my friends using and then from there it's autopilot. Imagine their surprise when they decide they're are sick of the algorithm and don't have to leave the app to try one that's more fun or helps them make money.
