Primal probably.

i’m saying, it’s the only one other than nostr:nprofile1qqsraldwhvwcjgltmxwfu7kw8dqef2692yhzheuurd7k3kfy8cxjdqgpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsz9thwden5te0v4jx2m3wdehhxarj9ekxzmny0nqg88 that looks identical to all legacy social medias…

A lot of people actually really don't like legacy social media and the people who like legacy social media just stay on there because they like it.

Twitter is not all legacy social media though.

Primal looks and feels like twitter. Not anything else

Jumble

I'd also recommend that to Bitcoiners and devs.

I wouldn't. This isnt a good space to orange pill. But Primal is fine just choose your own path, following recommendations is just going to throw someone into Lyn and Walkers feeds and then they leave 😅

which is crazy bc before i was a bitcoiner i thought walker and lyn were just two individuals with a love for the orange coin of life.

but they were and are cool as hell beside bitcoin.

lyn specifically posts a lot of interesting non bitcoiner or finance related things, and she has a killer taste in music

Olas.

if olas and primal absorbed up into one client, it WOULD be the PERFECT NORMIE CLIENT ARGHHH

i love olas, but it should be more involved with clients like primal, and linked.

I agree and it's buggy, but most people seem to prefer visual media.

I think it is a good place to orange pill, but not by reciting 10,000 hours of bitcoin podcasts. You just need to give regular bitcoin payments to people.

Nostr is perfect for that.

I like Amethyst, but I don't know that it has any special draw for non-bitcoiners. It's special draw for me is that I can disable media loading, which is a great compromise until Nostr has more centralized and censored media servers.

I hope it doesn't come from centralized media servers and comes from censorship bots or shared blocklists or something

Yep. Everyone wants moderation, but nobody wants to give moderators the kind of power and discretion that would make it worth it for them.

Why do you think forum owners put so much work into their websites and communities? I guaruntee that no amount of donations by themselves could ever buy that kind of effort from them. They are addicted and will do anything for that next power trip.

Anyone who doesn't care about leveraging community access against you as a form of control is someone who doesn't care at all about the community.

I've long since given up on the pipe dream of third party moderation that benefits me without also stifling me. Really the only reason moderation matters to me is because I don't want the government getting involved in Nostr.

Openvibe, voyage

Let's start with the insanity that cool devs don't release their apps on apple/google store cause freedom. Then, they expect people to use nostr.

this is the truth, i use nostr and don’t even use apps not on the app store #hypocrite

Meet the world where it is. Look at what is growing fast now. How can we do that even better?

I don't think it exists yet. Most people want a passive experience where the most they have to do is tap or swipe and the app learns what to throw their way as fast as possible. It can't come with ideology. It has to explore their brain for dopamine.

Yeah, I think most people actually do want a recommendation algorithm. I saw Damus branding themselves with not having an addictive algorithm, but I’m pretty sure a lot of people prefer using a platform with a recommendation algorithm compared to an app without any, like Nostr clients that just shows from newest to oldest posts.

As long as the user is in control of the algorithm, I think it’s totally fine. I just don’t want to be forced into using one that I can’t adjust or disable like on TikTok.

Yes and from what I've seen forcing or choice doesn't even enter their mind. It's what are my friends using and then from there it's autopilot. Imagine their surprise when they decide they're are sick of the algorithm and don't have to leave the app to try one that's more fun or helps them make money.

primal

Mobile app? Amethyst. I can't say I've used iOS apps but I would go for Damus or Nostur. Obviously having never used them I can't comment really lol. But is assume they don't have primal features like 'sidebar of stuff you would like if you like bitcointwitter'.

Jumble and Ditto.

Ditto is basically an exact twitter clone lol. Think you can get that as a PWA. But perhaps that is too annoying to give to someone.

I think Damus now comes with a wallet(?) so that would be my go to for absolute ease of use.

plentyofnotes.com

Open vibes is cool.

You can link your bluesky and mastodon accounts, so all 3 feeds are on the same app and you can post to all 3 at the same time.
