In case we’re talking about different things, I meant it’s legal to drink in the street. We even have beer vending machines! I really love it about japan. Just having random walks around neighborhoods with a beer. I walk my dogs and kid with a beer sometimes!

Right, i didn’t know this. I just assumed its not allowed since streets are so tidy. I’m also canadian so i wrongfully assume its illegal everytime i travel anywhere

Yeah it is a conundrum that they still keep the streets clean. Although in Shibuya it became a problem and I think they’ve started disallowing it now there. On a Saturday or Sunday early morning Shibuya is a mess.

Sorry I'm from a civilized country so I don't understand 3rd world problems, but where is the connection between drinking in public and dirty streets.
