I was today years old…

TIL

the CLI app is called cowsay. its a classic.

here i've made into a kangaroo, by passing the -f kangaroo option :) it can also be beavis, a koala, or other stuff.

So much old nerdy shit I didn’t know about.

once upon a time when i lived in sf, i actually walked into the craigslist office, unknowingly, thinking it was a second hand computer store...

craig newmark was like "can i help you?" once i'd gotten fully into the place, and instead of computers for sale, i was witnessing half a dozen people typing away on computers, set up on those long tables you bring to a portable picknick, and realized i was in a makeshift office space and not a retail store.

just to be certain, i asked "so... you don't actually sell any computers or computer parts here, right? i thought i had found "the craigslist store." "

he laughed and said no, this is actually our office.

I said well i love the site, carry on then, have a nice day.

and walked out.

this was in the inner sunset, if i recall, or somewhere along the N Judah Line.

I love that Craig just ran the place like it was a mom and pop store.

That’s hilarious

Yes, my buddy #[5] knows SF inside out.

i thought so too. πŸ˜‚

I’m guessing you were into much better things so you didn’t want to work there πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

I was making my way as a professional photographer, at the time. 😊 It was exactly what I wanted to be doing.
