Tried unlinking my hub and relinking it but that's even being very flaky
They turned off their custody wallet on the 3rd. Zaps no worky for me.
Yea I'm using hub (self custody). Sounds like they had a short outage this morning that was making some of the Alby account based functionality wonky. All fixed now though
Yeah they had to rug us to become "non-custodial".
That said, they warned us. This will be thier defence.
I personally find this decision dispicable and will not do business with them or reccomend.

To add clarity, i imagine the server issues were likely caused by people waking up to not being able to access balances they did not reslize were no longer theirs even though they were warned.
It was all clear if you were paying attention.
I still hate it.
I was able to access my balance throughout the outage because Alby Hub is a self custody solution. The outage only effected functions that relied on the alby account infra

They gave folks TONS of time to migrate and built an incredible, vastly improved, product to migrate to. Calling that a "rug" is insane.

If you leave your wallet on the bus and walk past the sign on your way out that says âtake your things with youâ and then ignore the driver tapping the sign and then cry because you canât afford a cupcake now you may have been rugged.
We see it differently. I see it as a lot of potentially ignorant, busy, or perhaps forgetful people who might leave personal property on a bus with a sign. And then calling the bus company (city?) to hear that any property left on the bus will become the property of the city. But we issued you a voucher.
Technically all neat and tidy as long as the sign spelled it out. But a very bad experience for those who lost something, even if it is their fault.
But no big deal... we can disagree.
I agree the new product is better. And I have been for self custody forever. And I agree that they gave users plenty of time. But they just sucked up all the sats that were left behind. And I do not like that move. Anyone confused, or who did not understand etc... they just lost their money. In my opinion your argument is they deserved to, and honestly I think you are right in a technical sense. But Alby has their money and will now just keep it because they can.
It will leave a bad taste in new user's mouths.
