Anyone know about these #rabbits? They are all over the place here. I know rabbits are part of some #homesteading and I'm wondering if these guys could be useful. #grownostr

They would work in a pinch, but rabbits raised for meat are larger, grow quicker and taste way better. If you are hungry and need some protein the one in the picture would work.

I assume they are wild? If so, leave em wild and use your hunting skills when you want hassenpfeffer stew

They are great at eating garden plants and young shrubs. I learned that lesson last year. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

.22 survival practice targets. Then learn how best fits you to prepare them in the yard on a stick over a fire. Nail that down then supplement your dog food bowl.

No .22, but I think I could take it with a pellet gun.

I've lost count of the number of rabbits I've killed with my pellet gun. I give them to my neighbour who guts and skins them before feeding them to his dog and cat.

They are ravenous, parasite ridden, disease spreading pests.

That’s a cottontail. Not as tasty as a domestic rabbit but still good.

Domestic rabbits are all around better in the context of homesteading and sustainability.

I am biased though, I’ve spent about a decade learning things with my backyard rabbits.

He looks delicious.

And there poo can go straight on the veggie patch.
