Unless you're a nation with unparalleled access to the Pacific and Atlantic, good luck being in control of anything. America is a geography before it's a nation. Politics, power projection, control of money - all derivatives of that fact. If you can make space cheaper than the ocean to trade & police, then maybe you have a chance. IMHO

Interesting you say that. Was just told, not confirmed, Mexico is back planning it's Pacific- Atlantic land bridge that's been discussed for years.
