Getting some great rain on the homestead. Just in time for the new cover crops to sprout. Yeah, a little late but better than not. Going to experiment with frost tolerance. One half of sprouts will be covered when we get sub 20°F next week. The other half will be forced to survive w/o protection.

Cover crop includes red clover, daikon radish, winter pea, winter rye

For sure will! No pics mean no experiment lol

Are you testing by not converting the other half of the sprouts to see how they do?

Yes, the other half will be uncovered.

Rye is nearly unstoppable. It will sprout at just above freezing.

Nice, first time trying it as a cover. I hear termination needs to be at a specific time or it keeps growing

I find it pretty difficult to evenly terminate. I've been leaning more on growing as a harvestable crop. Thats why i have wide rows. Very small scale.

Hmm well worst case our summer heat should do it and if not then I’ll just keep chop/drop. Good luck with your harvest.
