Pull to refresh. It all depends on how fast your connection and your relays are.

Yeah, I get that for new posts. I just don't get why it's loading so many old ones. It slows startup down for no reason.
Humm.. you also don't have inbox and outbox relays. Can you set those up? I would use 3 in each.
Sure, after I figure out what that means.
Public Outbox/home (the first section in your relay list) should have the relays that have ALL your posts. If it is empty, the app doesn't know where to get your posts, including your list of follows. If the app cannot find your follow list (or if it is just very slow at it) then the feed will take forever to load.
Public Inbox should be the relays that people can use to send you likes, zaps, etc. I am surprised you are receiving any notifications. Since your list is empty, most apps don't know where to send replies/likes/zaps to your posts.
Are you on slow internet? I'm on starlink and I remember now that this is why I have so many problems, starlink has a big difference in latency compared to fiber.
My phone is also a little slow so put those together and it gives me a lot of issues.
I tired it on fiber before and on a faster phone and I didn't have issues.
So Amethyst isn't the problem for me.
No. My internet speed should have no effect on old posts loading anyway. They shouldn't load automatically on any connection in my opinion. It's inefficient for storage and bandwidth unless I specifically choose to load them.
I'm not sure then. I don't understand the design of nostr. I'm not an engineer. You can always take a video and post the issue on GitHub.
And it seems that you could have a better experience on slower connections if the app wasn't loading notes that are many months old by default on startup.
Some of the posts are more than one year old. Many are months old. It seems that loading those should be something I do at the end of my feed once I exhaust new posts from a week or so.
I think this is definitely my issue. I'm on starlink and I connected to high speed internet fiber once and amethyst was super fast.
So yes. I keep forgetting that my issue is starlink as I am having other issues as chatgpt being slow on starlink.
Starlink is good as temporary internet but not full time.
Ideally, I wouldn't load those old posts at startup. I would expect to have to load them manually. I can understand if it loaded posts from maybe a week ago. Although, it would make more sense to load them based on when the app was last open. Just some thoughts. No idea if that's your domain or not. I don't fully understand how the clients and Nostr work together.
