I have been thinking of a new avatar, but now that you've said this I feel compelled to keep it lolol.
I think they fetishize "doers" and "makers", and since many of them can't do or make anything besides podcasts, AI art is an homage to their heroes.
This also explains their penchant for "vibe coding", for which I reserve the majority of my seething angst.
