Ok, everyone, I'm new to #NOSTR, and I don't have a #BTC Lightning wallet yet. Do you have recommendations? I have an Android phone, and I use various hardware wallets for long-term HODLING. My current plan is to choose a software lightning wallet, send BTC to the software wallet, and - once lightning payment channels are closed - send long-term BTC savings back to my hardware wallet. Otherwise, BTC amounts in a lightning wallet should be kept low, and treated as small amounts of cash/ spending money. What lightning software wallet do you recommend for security and use-ability on Android? I'm not very technical, so I probably won't build my own Lightning node. Any other advice about getting started with the ⚡ Lightning Network? ⚡

I probably should have mentioned I'm using the Amethyst App to connect to NOSTR.

hello there , welcome to Nostr

for easy manage you can use WalletOfSatoshi(custodial) for send/receive zaps in nostr then you can choose your wallet for long term savings.

Thank you for the feedback! 👍🏻 According to the Google Play store, WalletOfSatoshi is not available on Android. 😶‍🌫️ I have an Android phone. Some other folks recommended Alby. I'll check it out. Cheers

im using Redmi 9T so old model and its android and im using walletofsatoshi i dont know why you cant find it on store ...

alby is option aswell.

cheers

Thanks for the reply! 👍🏻 I'll take a closer look at these recommendations

Welcome to the #nostr family ⚡️💜🫂 I like alby and wallet of Satoshi for ⚡️’s

Alrighty, thank you for the recommendations! 🙏🏻

I use Alby. On my phone I use BlueWallet because it can sync with Alby. So what I see on my phone is the same as what I see on any desktop browser I'm using that I have the Alaby extension installed. Plus, Alby is very helpful in logging into nostr dapps.

Thanks for the tips! NOSTR dApps you say? More to explore in the #NOSTR ecosystem! Any favorite #dApps you'd like to recommend?

I'm futzing with cashu.me and nutstash.app along with npub.cash though they're a bit hard to wrap my brain around and not sure if they improve on alby. But they're interesting to me.

Also nostree.me is like lintr.ee but runs on nostr

Thanks for the reply!🤙🏻 I'll take a look at these recommendations. So much to explore on Nostr! 🤯

Hi, nostr:npub1qpdufhjpel94srm3ett2azgf49m9dp3n5nm2j0rt0l2mlmc3ux3qza082j, can you recommend a safe, low-fee, fiat-to-crypto on-ramp? I was using Binance US until they ran into problems, and their banking partners bailed on them. I've been dragging my feet about setting up a new exchange account. Thinking I may go with Kraken, but I would prefer something simpler if it doesn't involve crazy-high transaction fees. Thoughts?

Sorry but this is something I really don't know much about. I will say that Kraken seems very legit, as do Gemini and Coinbase. Coinbase gets picked on a lot but my view is that it's because they're the biggest in the US and you've got to pick on someone. Kind if interesting to me is Bisq-2 which just came out. It's peer to peer trading, nit completely sure how it works, but I think it's definitely interesting.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I have stayed away from Coinbase bc their fees are so high. I think Coinbase and Circle also get a bad rap bc they're kinda cosy with the US regulators. I know that sounds odd given that the SEC is suing Coinbase. Nevertheless, Coinbase does a lot of lobbying at the Federal level, which is probably a smart move for the company; but I can see how it may not jive with the philosophy of a lot of crypto hodlers..
