- call centers (probably related to no phone numbers and no trad. phone calls)

- bank or insurance branches

- LTE

- gaming consoles (maybe one generation longer)

- cashiers in large chains / big cities

- receptionists

Is the gaming console just an ASIC (special purpose hardware)?

Actually it’s general purpose hardware optimized for gaming. I think, the ps core chip was the last optimized cpu. I don’t see the need for a dedicated device with the power of other devices increasing again at faster pace.

I’ve actually read that cashiers like having it automated really doesn’t save that much

Every save counts and technology will only improve. Also, it is tougher to find people for those jobs.
