As a matter of fact, I’m a philanthropy consultant and recently presented to our whole firm on this exact topic, though I used the word “disrupt” rather than destroy.

IMHO, the giving impulse will always exist in humans, as will the fraud impulse, so we’ll need new charitable intermediaries to credibly sort the legit needs from the bogus. AI will escalate both tendencies, too.

The ‘industry’ part of this yes, but my prediction is that the philanthropy and aid part will increase dramatically..

the huge difference is it will be more locally oriented and from individuals, who can finally actually plan for their financial future and *know* how much they have to give to others in real need and not be eternally confused and in fear for their future.
