I didn't read every word, and I love Hoppe (he's top tier shit) but I read a good bit and I see this as a purity test thing. Look, the dispute between anarchists and libertarians in whether or not to use the state is old. We don't know JM, but he could be an ancap for real, and do what he has done. Whenever I saw him, the word "libertarian" was sold a LOT more often. He ran for office.. that right there doesn't pass a lot of ancap purity tests. I don't think we can say he's not an ancap because he didn't completely dissolve the Argentine state the day he was sworn in. To my knowledge he never promised to govern as an ancap, he never promised to dissolve the state completely. He promised to clean house and implement libertarian policy and Austrian economics. There is overlap, but they are different things. He knew what he was getting into, he knows the CIA is watching, he doesn't want a revolt, he knows that dissolving the state overnight in Argentina would mean a much harder period which would drive Argentines to forever self-destructive socialism and the permanent third-world status of his country. I'm not personally interested in running for office, but if I was to gain office as he did, I'd probably do the exact same things. It is a balance and some give and take, to carefully unfuckup a country, without dissolution. I see this as a balance of principle and practical. He's not doing the 100% principled thing, in favor of some practice solutions. I have not determined if I'd press the rothbard button or not, but Milei apparently has, and I won't hold it against him...for now...
