It was! My last years living in DR I used to go a lot for modeling work to PR … 😄 it was literally 40 min flights and it felt so familiar to be there always

That's awesome having those experiences young. What part of DR are you from? My wife and I fly to the DR every year, it's a very easy flight. It's usually to get away for a little while in Punta Cana or Cap Cana. My wife loves this place. We go every time we are there.
Yes, I love this place too! Even though Punta Cana and Cap Cana are beautiful spots, I feel like our island has so many hidden gems that aren’t as touristy. I’m from Santiago, which is the heart of the island, surrounded by mountains in the north. For your next trip, I suggest exploring the north coast—it’s where I grew up going. Check out Cabarete, Cabrera, Las Terrenas, and the entire Samaná Bay. Another must-see is Bahía de las Águilas in Barahona, which they’re now starting to promote more. I took my husband there a couple of years ago—crystal-clear waters, white sands… highly recommend it!
#DominicanRepublic has it ALL 💙🇩🇴 extrañando mi isla 🏝️

I just bookmarked this. Yeah, we usually go for the resorts just to get away and relax a bit. However, we will have to do a trip to explore the island more. I appreciate the recommendations 💜. Home is always home. Hope your able to visit DR soon.
Appreciate the kind words always 🙏🏽
Ayyy Santiago represent! LFG!! Small world!
