First time water glassing eggs. Finally got duck eggs clean enough to try this method. Apparently you’re supposed to put them pointy end down but i found that pretty much impossible.

I've never preserved eggs this way. Do you preserve them uncooked? Have you eaten them after being preserved this way?

Yes, they go in raw and unwashed. Don’t need to be refrigerated. Mix of water and lime. They have to be clean. This is my first time trying. But, people who have tried it said they last 12 months easy. The texture might change slightly the longer you leave then.

Just finished a jar we water glassed last year of chicken eggs. Still amazed that they cooked up and tasted exactly like a fresh egg

Yeah they never stay in that down pointed position everyone recommends lmao. They say that then say it’s impossible every time

Glad it’s not just me

I personally never pay any attention to the position and am satisfied with the results. Maybe they could be a little less loose or something? Not sure what improvements the orientation provides. We sold all the eggs we should have been preserving last season. Will not make that mistake again.
