In a world where quality has declined and instability has become the norm, only two things truly matter:

1. Power

2. Personal loyalty

#Bitcoin embodies both.

It restores power to the individual, and if you safeguard your keys properly, it will remain loyal to you forever.

National currencies, political promises, social contracts — even the reputation of major institutions — are all, in the end, forms of fiat: constructs of collective belief, lacking real backing, and destined to collapse.

Sooner or later, all of them will betray you.

But #Bitcoin was built not to betray.

Idealising feels nice, but is dangerous. It's people using, hodling, spending and talking Bitcoin what gives Bitcoin its power, together with the tech. Bitcoin in the hands of a couple of big institutions, or in the hands of speculative whales is just digital gold on top of what governments might build their cbdcs

Bitcoin is about participation — holding, spending, building, and talking. If we abandon it, it’ll become a tool of the same powers we tried to escape.
