Trying to stop being protected by my government

De-humanizing ourselves by de-humanizing others in the name of any cause leads to violence and ignorance. Political violence and ignorance to decadence. Over the ages, over the cultures.

Let Nepal serve as a cautionary tale for governments enforcing totalitarian speech control.

No sr! I am rogue but love their work. Building something not entirely similar. Will publish once its more polished, for now had to migrate to this new account for extra privacy (not new to Nostr). Looking forward hearing about the progress with the git server! Great work! Cheers!

Having millions in your mind is highly poetic, that said, depensing on the value of the eallet write it down for god sake, at least in part. I think 7 is the number of random things that the average Joe can memorize easily. I would say, secure enough.

Utterly interesting, a git server over Nostr could be powerful AF. As some codebases are highly political (like bitcoin-core or Tor to name a few) they need censorship resistant properties, a git over nostr could be a big contributor to those properties. Myself, interested in making markdown books and authors censorship resistant, a git server could also these the space needed for very long formats beyond current NIP. Congratulations for the great work so far, onward!

Interesting approach Daniel. Have you experienced any limit from big relays in relation to the content size? Happy blogging!

So a lot of people seem to have the hope that Trump will pardon the Samourai Wallet developers.

While waiting for the Storm verdict, I took some time to read through the White House Digital Asset Report to see what this administration thinks of financial privacy, and my guys - if you still believe that the Trump WH is in *any* capacity friendly to these undertakings, you are in for a very rude awakening.

Effectively, the White House urges FinCEN to deem *all* privacy measures in digital assets a “primary money laundering concern” under the PATRIOT Act.

This includes:

-> single use addresses, wallets and accounts

-> swapping between networks & chains

-> mixers, obviously

-> “pooling” or “aggregating” cryptocurrencies from multiple wallets

Many will now say: oh, but there’s so much good language in the report as well, like the protection of self-custody.

That’s true, but the protection of self-custody is contingent on the *lawful exchange* of assets between users.

That’s why the White House additionally urges Congress to *expand the PATRIOT Act* and *amend the BSA to cover “DeFi” services*.

To ensure compliance in “DeFi,” the White House suggests the implementation of digital identities, that would tie all of your transaction history to your name, so that “DeFi” services have the power to approve transactions.

Even when implemented with ZKProofs, as the White House suggests, this would effectively turn a permissionless system into a permissioned one.

I know we live in the age of celebrating all the Bitcoin wins, but sometimes things that glitter are just a massive pile of shit, my dudes.

I was afraid that Bitcoin may become great for the IRSs of the world, now even it succeeding as medium of exchange (maybe) might become the world's CBDC, a tool of optimal control, instead of a tool for optimal freedom. Time and our action will tell. Concerning times.

Sorry, I don't use Primal much apart from posting podcasts but I thought I would share some of the work we are doing here trying to fix Bedford.

Beyond starting a football club and owning local businesses, I have become active in trying to fix the endless issues in the town.

We have economic issues, in that businesses are under pressure from the economic climate as well as growing government red tape. This is being compounded by a massive rise in anti-social behaviour. We have a plague of addiction issues, with large numbers of crackheads, alcoholics and shoplifters in the town. We have a rise in crime, including assaults on women.

This is not a good situation.

Two months ago I threatened the police, that if they did not fix the issue then I will. During August I am funding a private security initiative in the town, where 10 security guards will be deployed across the town as scarecrows, providing a security blanket for residents and businesses.

We have met with the local police and our activity will be coordinated with them. We are also trying to work with the local council too. I am considering establishing a shadow council in the town, outside of party politics, driving civic action.

Alongside the private security, we are building teams for cleaning, events and marketing to drive economic activity in the town.

I just thought I would share this. Bitcoin world has become a little stale to me, it is time to get out there and do things. The UK is pretty fucked at the moment so it is fight or flight time.
