https://relays.land/ now has an option to create moderated relays.

Moderated relays accept any events, but events only become publicly visible when manually approved by a moderator. Approval can be given either through the relay web dashboard or using NIP-86 methods.

Is this what was needed for moving the bitcoin-dev mailing list to Nostr?

Why is this better than hosting a normal service (GUI / backend with auth)?

Which normal service?

It's easy to come up with your own relay policy and logic without having to rebuild everything from scratch.

You can reuse Nostr identities and clients. You can natively refer to and be referred from the external Nostr network.

can you make a nip-86 public website for all nip86 relays? i failed on mangostr. an i got failed to receive funds, so i can't hire devs for it as well.

but we really need one of them.

I'm not sure 🤔

What clients work well with such relays?

https://jumble.social/ is the best for now, but we're still early.

https://coracle.social, https://yakihonne.com and others can also be used to just browse.
