I honestly have always hated social media. Never really “got it.”
MySpace was fun for a few weeks but quickly devolved into shouting into the void.
Facebook/Instagram was useful for a few years but I started to grow apart from most of my college friends as I became the crazy Libertarian guy.
Twitter was the closest I got to finding people with common values. But then the thought police came in and started censoring posts and shadow banning accounts. I had over 1000 followers and rarely saw engagement with my posts.
Nostr feels different. The signal here is very high.
And honestly, even if it stays this small (which it probably won’t), I’m happy.
And the goal for me here is to foster real exchange of ideas, to encourage others to seek the highest good, and to build real relationships that can extend into “meatspace” with the goal of building a new social order that is fueled by decentralized technology.
Feeling very grateful. 🥹
