I might say “if taxes are voluntary, then why not?”… but this doesn’t really make sense.

Because membership in the entity (that we call “government”) which levies taxes also must be voluntary for voluntary taxes to make sense.

And for this “voluntary membership” to have any effect, individuals would need to have meaningful choices for their governance … but then land gets in the way.

So if governance is dictated by physical territory (where one lives or works) then no … people would have no practical means to choose governance and therefore voluntary taxes are meaningless.

Open borders? Try obliterating borders all together. Government is for people not for land. Only then would bitcoiners support voluntary taxation.

But hey. That’s my stupid take.
