Problems necessitate solutions. Solutions often take the form of capital goods. Capital goods enable surpluses of useful items; trade and money arises as a result.

Well said. The synergy between capital formation and money is so pervasive, most people don't even see it. They're like fish who don't know water exists. That's how they can conflate money and wealth, and conclude that printing money is beneficial.
