why people say "I'm over my skiis" wen being over your skiis is the correct way to ski?

Ha!
I think it's because by bending your knees more forward and learning overtop makes you pick up speed quickly. The expression comes from warning people when they get too far ahead of themselves. Like they're picking up lots of speed without truly being able to handle it.
Mostly I think it’s more like, don’t get too far out over your skiis? Like, don’t lockup the front brakes?
When your center of gravity (CG) is past the tip of your skis, your face is about to feel the snowpack.
