The latest paper by two "mainstream economists" working for the ECB has basically been predicted in 1988 already.

"The State will of course try to slow or halt the spread of this technology, citing national security concerns, use of the technology by drug dealers and tax evaders, and fears of societal disintegration."

It's once again mind-blowing how visionary the original cypherpunks were.

So instead of falling asleep over the ECB paper, read this: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/timothy-c-may-crypto-anarchist-manifesto

Modern day visionaries they were. I am absolutely in love with this part of the history. What is so amazing and shocking is that people and inventions that are rapidly reshaping the world are never even mentioned in the mainstream, schools and academia. It's like they are both afraid and jelous that it's those "nerds" who are winning.

This is literally the most surprising thing to me: the uninformed person on the street would probably say that nothing much of relevance is happening in the world.

Exactly. They say the world is hopeless and we are leaving the revolution!
