during lunch today, nostr:npub1jrcfyw8n298jf83txvlxzx0w7jtfwqs0j4ha0dnn9ns33hgm209sqejdcc and i were discussing prices and inflation (as one does). the price of eggs are fucking wild. $8.98 for 18 eggs? 2 years ago we were paying $2.52 for 18 eggs. before Trump was elected we were paying $3.56 for 18 eggs. wild. #thanksTrump

(and also thanks Walmart order history!)

I paid $5.56 for a dozen at Aldi. If you have aldi you don’t shop elsewhere

one just opened up a couple months ago here. we've been shopping there. the steaks suck though. i prefer the local butcher shop.

The ribeye steaks are a little skinny 😆 do not recommend

right? what is this THIN SLICED RIBEYE?!?!

It’s for SANGWHICHES

Orly? Acceptable....perhaps.

They have came a long ways on their meat... Back in my bachelor days I would go buy their hot pink/red dyed ribeyes for such a "killer" price... And they somehow had like a month or so out expiration dates on them.... That was back in the 2005 era.... RFK would be ashamed of me.

🤣 hey don’t knock the bachelor / bachelorette foods mannnnn

Costco had 18 for like 8 bucks on Sunday when I was there. The limit was 3. They were what we call baking eggs in our house. We passed.

Walking out I was looking at everyone’s cart and they all had 3. 54 eggs a shopper. Lol.

People are wildly selfish in scarce times.

People, most, are just wildly selfish. And stupid. Most. Not all.

We used to buy the 5 dozen packs that aren't even available now. Not exactly panic greed to buy the limit if the limit is less than we used to buy.

There are limit signs in every store. I know this because I’m somewhat of a grocery store whore.

Food shortages are a classic sign of an overgrown government collapsing.

That tracks

And also, people are selfish

It was every cart lol.

I wonder if they know that eggs have a much shorter shelf life than TP?
