Well, gl. My transportation costs are locked in for basically the rest of my life, because I can charge my car on solar that I own. You may find gas prices prohibitive to your strategy, but I really do wish you all the best, I mean I like gas too, I just anticipate its not going to practical in the near to mid term with all the crazy environmentalism.

Zero against charging your car with your own solar. It’s great (although I don’t think it’s that environmental friendly if you take everything in account like the cobalt and lithium mines, the cars that are worthless after 10 years,..)

But beside that, the problem I have is that you trust a centralized party with every part of technology of your car that can be used against you. Controlling you, restricting you,.. . All very easy with a tech toy. And knowing those centralized parties get all their subsidies from governments makes me more paranoid.

But maybe I’m just a conspiracy theorist. Hear that over and over again.

But I rather be protected, self sovereign, have #Bitcoin and never need it. Than need it and don’t have it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I won't make any claims to environmental efficacy of EVs, its marginal at best.

There are numerous threats to self soverignity and human rights, and my car being turned off remotely is one that's fair to point out. There is also a risk that bad (or malicious) policy will continue to drive up gas prices, economically depressing anyone who uses an ICE vehicle.

Which way it breaks is a political decision, but in my scenario they have the tools and track record to support it, and in your scenario they would have to go beyond the status quo to lock people down. Its similar attack vectors on bitcoin, is the government more likely to attempt a blanket ban, or are they going to crack down at the exchange level through kyc and restricting withdrawals to custodial wallets?

Just my 2 sats, I'm not trying to convince you to switch, I have an ICE end of the world truck too, I just don't put a lot of miles on it.
