I think the world has become a much better place when people started trying to solve problems with reason than by doing ritualistic sacrifices and rain dances 🤣
Disagree. The crusades were a great leap forward for society for sure. Once they stopped listening to gods instructions to kill every male, child, and mother, and keep only the virgin women for involuntary marriage the world got a lot more peaceful.
We could still do better by leaving superstition farther behind.
But but but those young male war torn orphan children would’ve grown up and tried to get revenge against us. We had to kill them for their own good. Why? You can’t question god and his ultimate wisdom. It’s like an ant questioning a humans wisdom.

Yes people really stopped killing each other in a more secular society history shows.
It does actually. Religion is at the center of most wars. Even when it isn't, religious thinking is there. We group as us and others, then demonize the other until most of us think of them as less than human.
I'm opposed to broken thinking patterns and religion is just one of them.
