the role nostr will play in the months before the 2024 US presidential election will expose the protocol to its first significant stress test. strengths, weaknesses, as well as strong, weak, and easily compromised people will all be exposed.

by then nostr will have to have some form of spam / bot protection implemented, that will be a real challenge to not overfilter / censor while keeping free speech and decentralization.
