I'm so tired of the yearly Christopher Columbus debates in the US around Columbus Day. The Left wants to paint him as a historical supervillain, and the Right wants to claim him as a revolutionary hero.

How about we just teach the history. Not everything Columbus did was great, but his voyage was extraordinarily significant to world history, and that's worth remembering.
