I don't know why no one thought of a PGP-nostr bridge so far. The social features of nostr seem perfect to share and trust pgp public keys.

bUT whY nOt jUsT uSe nOStR native cryptography? Well, because pgp is still ubiquitous and wildly used in e2e email, in software distribution, darkweb, etc.

The same way we set lnaddresses, in our kind0 metadata, we can set a field for a pgp pubkey. No need for weird keyservers or DNS and webserver dependent WKD. Just query nostr relays.

Nostr keyserver, but support delete.

Amazing! NIP looks generic enough, now we only need proper tooling and integrations

Thanks! Will make a PR to NIP-39 where it apparently belongs

This also came to my mind to integrate something like this to my email aliases over nostr, to send through alias with pgp. I guess, the same hurdle is there for trad emails, but over nostr it could detect if the other email is also a nostr email.

But first, I have to get the basics up and running.

Let's do it!
