I’d say to fight our monkey brains and stop labeling and categorizing people into nicely organized and easy to navigate niches, and instead approach each individual by employing a hand higher functioning part of the brain. I respectfully disagree. Good heuristics save brain capacity for something else.

I do it the opposite way though. I look for positive heuristics (does this person want more liberty?) and then I interact with them. Other people are not ready, or not likely to be ready.

You are making a good point, and I do agree that we should not waste the energy on people who are not open to discussion. What I tried to state was about the preemptive judgment and full on bias 🐶🐾🫡

Heuristics are bias by definition. We have to be somehow biased in order to operate in this world. It's good to stochastically not apply our own heuristic sometimes though.
