I’d say to fight our monkey brains and stop labeling and categorizing people into nicely organized and easy to navigate niches, and instead approach each individual by employing a hand higher functioning part of the brain. We are all guilty (clearly myself included) of just dismissing arguments based on the categories of individuals we interact with. 🐶🐾🤔🤔🤔 nostr:note1zsfhuhjj3q7dhjg2dexa5dtsf3snvdxetvf24vtpvj2kmg20gu3qnvjusj

I respectfully disagree. Good heuristics save brain capacity for something else.
"If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry." - Satoshi
I do it the opposite way though. I look for positive heuristics (does this person want more liberty?) and then I interact with them. Other people are not ready, or not likely to be ready.
You are making a good point, and I do agree that we should not waste the energy on people who are not open to discussion. What I tried to state was about the preemptive judgment and full on bias 🐶🐾🫡
Came here to say this. Thankyou
He's making a point about certain sections of society being dogmatic and unreceptive to discourse.
He's broadly correct, that's just my experience.
The news automatically becomes the real world for the TV user and is not a substitute for reality, but is itself an immediate reality.

Maybe. I am just not a fan of broad statements and categorizing individuals into demographics 🐶🐾🫡
I respect that you clearly believe in the sovereignty of the individual, I do too, but some shy from their divine spark, are afraid of it, such a shame.
They doubt their own counsel, their own wisdom.
How long can one respect the sovereignty of another when they themselves dont?
I agree and would add :
Arguments with whoever take time, mental and physical energy.
Sometimes it is worth it and sometimes absolutely not (especially if it’s on the internet).
To generalize people is generally an ignorant thing to do, right?
Or am I wrong?
I’ve already experienced blabbering (or fuming internally) out generalizations, getting to pointing fingers, You you you are to blame for this f’ed up world.
I find it’s easy to become infected by toxic rhetoric when spending to long consuming half backed “wise-talk”. I’ m guilty! I find it addictive. On twitter etc, with all the bots, to make effort to approach other this way, nah, but here on nostr I feel It’s good to call each other out so we can learn to reflect on our monkey mind that is so full of nonsense.
To divide oneself from others in left right, boomer genz etc feels to damn easy and feels like low-level consciousness. It’s hard to smell our own breath, but it’s worth it.
Definitely something to be aware of and avoid when required 🐶🐾🫂🫡
