A tip for video uploads on Nostr:

If you are liberating a video from other sites, always choose the AVC codec over VP9 in your downloading tool. VP9 will have playback issues on a lot of iOS clients, while AVC will be much more likely to playback for all users.

Correct, AVC aka H.264 works everywhere. HEVC / H.265 (better compression) is also very well supported (some degoogled Chromium browsers can't play it).

Hopefully AV1 will be the standard soon but we need to get rid of all computing older than 2020 for that so… maybe a few years.
