I make exceptions for politicians

Being classy requires not making exceptions.

Some of the best people I know and love are Democrats, or at least lean strongly to the left. Genuinely wonderful people.
On that note, some of my favorite people are vegans or Muslims.
I don't know any vegan Muslims, tho. 😂

Yup.
Real life isn't the Internet or some book. Humans are very complex. I judge them in their entirety, not merely by their political opinions, and they return the favor.
I am, after all, one of their favorite people, too.

I see what you mean about not making exceptions; after all you did questions if democrats are retarded. That’s ~70 million people (legal or otherwise) with no exceptions.
I’m going to exercise my freedoms and call Harris a whore. Classyness be damned. It’s more important than your opinion of me. Calling her a whore is probably letting her off light. She knew Biden was braindead and lied. She could have had him impeached and become president, fulfilling the oath she swore. Harris sold out to political pressure every opportunity. She is political-pandering, ladder-climbing whore in every sense.
Are you legally allowed to call Angela Markel a ____ (fill in the blank with mean German word)?
You're not actually allowed to call _anyone_ by swear words, here. It's §185-192 in the criminal law book, and you are free to report anyone calling you anything. They can receive a fine, or up to 2 years in jail.

The controversial bit is actually paragraph 188, which raises the punishment further, if the victim was a politician. It's become an industry; using companies and AI systems that just go around looking for mean tweets and then suing people.
Anyone can report, even if they are unaffected.
And, for the record, Germans just like to sue each other. They'll take each other to court over mowing the lawn too loud on Sunday afternoon.
It doesn't actually translate to the loss of freedom you might think. And the fines are often like €200.
