What about when you read opposing viewpoints yet they just confirm your existing view? I search out differing opinions. I frequently find they came to a different conclusion because they’re operating from a different value set. Setting aside people who put forth an opposing view with deeply flawed arguments filled with logical fallacies.
The tricky part is finding the arguments that annoy you in just the right way.
