i have a tiny email server that only runs an smtp daemon. i use mailx with it. its pure simplicity. its insanely fast, and can communicate with anyone else running something similar. im told that doing this is a recipie for all kinds of spam. but what ive learned is, spammers dont care about small targets. spammers look for reach. if you are small and under the radar, spammers dont even see you. actually neither does government or mega corporations. they see you as a hobbit, and what possible threat could you be to an empire of their magnitide?
