Question:

Sometimes, lithium batteries catch fire.

Big batteries cause big fires.

So, if a lithium battery was scaled up to the power output and longevity of a nuclear plant, would the risk be higher or lower than the risk of just running a nuclear reactor?

Lower because even being lithium neurotoxic it will not last thousand of years like radioactive isotopes. The big difference is short to long term damage
