They are different. Spotify has better playlists (both curated and user created) and more discovery. Tidal is better streaming quality (hi res). Spotify has sometimes taken down content (joe rogan) and pushed podcasts a lot. Tidal has videos and works with Roon, a high end home music platform.

We can be slightly optimistic @jack will push Tidal towards Bitcoin and away from MQA.
