That said, you can get SOME privacy against SOME actors by doing the best you can (e.g. SSL, Tor, patching your OS, VPNs, GrapheneOS, etc) and for some people that is worhwhile.
Just don't fool yourself into thinking you are so anonymous that you can break laws with impunity, or plan an insurrection and get away with it. You aren't that anonymous.
rule number 1: identify your threat model. if it’s state actors, well, good luck with that.
