While it would be nice to live in a utopian world where everything we do has no impact whatsoever on the planet, unfortunately we must face reality - and right now reality is that cryptocurrency mining does generate carbon emissions.

However, it's worth mentioning that there are efforts underway throughout the Bitcoin community to develop more eco-friendly solutions for mining. Many enthusiasts are exploring renewable energy alternatives such as hydroelectric or geothermal power.
