Yeah. I'm trying to teach basic marketing and product-placement skillz, but a lot npubs just act allergic to them. 😂
Everyone is about trying to build The Only App and get famous people to use it. Well, whatever. Can't save everyone.
Someone is going to make a killing on some obscure Bowling App, or something, and the We Need More Influencers and User NGU people are going to look silly.

#siamstr is probably nostr's greatest success imo. Not even sure how it happened, seems to be organic or something. Tempted to switch to playstore so I have the autotranslates to dip into it.
Far more interesting than the redditors who didn't stay, the Matt taibbi followers who didn't stay, the tik tok-ers who didn't stay

I'm also way more interested in the "philosophy clique" and the "chill, broke Europeans" and the "peeps who like planting veggies" and "Puerto Ricans smoking a blunt" and etc. than in chasing people down who don't get the value proposition.
There are lots of people who weren't being served and Nostr finally makes serving them profitable.
YES & JUST BECAUSE I CAN IMPORT MY NSEC DOESN'T MEAN THAT CLIENT NEEDS TO SHOW ME THE SAME FEED OR GIVE ME ALL THE RELAY OPTIONS. MAYBE BLUNT SMOKIN PUERTO RICANS ONLY WANT TO SEND PHOTOS OF BLUNTS WITH NO COMMENTS AND ONLY HAVE ZAPS THAT TURN THE SCREEN INTO A CLOUD OF SMOKE WHEN RECEIVED.
There is an opportunity to get some marketing off the back of the mashtastic tinkerers, what with people building using both, and Meshtastic really taking off on yourube. I think that is a good match, all sorts of tinkerers in general too, tinkering in gardens, tinkering with code, tinkering with DIY, tinkering with synths etc etc

Use obtanium so you don't need to use the play store to get the play store version.

It's an installer for apps that support it. It's very slick. I wish more apps would support it. Amethyst does and it's fast and easy.
Why Obtanium instead of F-droid? Or are they for different use cases
Obtanium is much faster to get the update, plus you get push notifications of updates instead of possibly not getting them on f-droid.
Gotcha. So it sounds like f-droid may be more for those with a security preference of manual-only updates, and obtanium is more about permissionless access to the content that everyone gets, without needing to go through Google. Thanks!
