Grateful for an hour of yin yoga this morning and the strong will power to not have made a cup of coffee yet.

Good morning, dears. Hope you weekend is beautiful.

I did this yoga session with Kassandra (if you want to give it a go) and enjoyed the sweet affirmations with each pose. This was also deep, oooof... a few more of these and I think I would give my body the loving and adjustment it is really yearning for.

I always feel like a new person after one of these sessions. The hardest part is getting started.

I totally agree. The beauty of doing it at home is that the start is just a click away. I conquer as well... Such a renewal of being every time.

Is there a Yang Yoga for dudes?

Yin yoga is also for dudes. Any body really. It's yin because it is slow and deep and works with the fascia of the body. If you consider too much of a dude for it just because you hear the word yin I challenge you to give it a go. But yeah you could try a vinyasa flow for instance for more yang perhaps.

something a bit like Pilates right?, lots of slow but heavy resistance and stretching

in Systema there is a heap of more "dude" style exercises that are also quite slow and heavy, stuff like one hand pushups and such

i'm sure there's more to it though of course, but when i think of yin i think of opening up the things that are closed and closing up the things that are normally open, sorta like undoing a lot of the yang that we do in our day

It's passive stretching.

I'll give it a go. It was a joke or something... idk.

☯️ Tbf I didn't catch it either.

I love yin yoga. I do pliability. But I haven't done the hero workouts (> 40 mins) in ages. So beneficial.
