So the dogecoin con artist is getting billions in government subsidies to launch massive rockets that do nothing more than blow up in the sky... And this is somehow a brave and heroic achievement and not just blatant theft because he's convinced TV viewers that these rockets will somehow take humanity to Mars. Do I have this right?

Are you critical of the subsidies, rocket blowing up, or both?

From an engineering stand point this is expected. Errors always occur in complex systems.

The subsidies are the obvious problem, and their presence is why people deal with this insane and obviously pointless stupid waste as if it were some glorious accomplishment. Everything looks good when you don't have to pay for it!
