There is a lot of money to be made from the nostr clients once millions of people start using it and even more money when billions start using it.
I'm sure some clients developers are going to do something stupid like charge a monthly subscription to use their client which is a stupid business model.
Instead the client should automatically take mSats for events. It's enough for 1 user to not complain but it's add up super fast when millions are using the client.
That's enough to get a steady stream of money to keep developing and paying for your employees.
There is millions to be made from the clients.

I agree with you in spirit about using something better, I dont come to the same conclusion that he only wants free speech for himself.
No question, he would rather we weren’t competing with him but thats not the same thing at all.
