Same with me, but if I'm fair .. I think it didn't start with this kind of truths. It started when I was younger, on a forum with a lot of techies, where some very skilled developers were discussing complicated topics. I realized that one can discuss all kinds of things, without forcing anything on another, just exchange of ideas. Where you're stimulated to think, and allowed to disagree and discuss. I tried to learn. I continued to learn, and Zeitgeist was on that path 😋 (also VPRO Backlight documentaries on the (collapse of the) financial system)

Look for around 10 years ago

And also, some speakers like Richard Dawkins tend to attract a lot of nonsensicle discussions in the Q&A after his talks, especially 10 years ago. The blinding incorrect, unsound arguments and relentless pushing for it, opened my eyes in one particular way.

If you look/listen carefully, you'll notice that Dawkins is quite skilled at accurately describing/explaining what he means, to emphasize key points, or to ridicule in order to emphasize the part that's silly, as opposed to ridiculing a person. The responses that are then misplaced, are also eye-opening.
