I'm working on a taxonomy of digital goods — especially rivalrous, excludable ones that can be transferred. What are paradigm cases or important kinds to keep track of? How would you add to a list like this?

- domain names

- digital dollars, debts, bonds

- NFTs

- gaming assets (skins, etc.)

- bitcoin (of course)

- ether

Some key properties I'm keeping track of include marginal cost of production, non-monetary (use) value, cash flow, aesthetic value, possible Veblen status, mode of issuance/creation, and self-custody.

What else comes to mind?

non-monetary (use) value - this is often just called "utility"

Identities and original characters (OCs) come to mind... Furry artists will make adoptables that can be purchased and used as one's fursona.

NFTs are a very broad spectrum of assets, and can be anything from proof of purchase for a digital asset, to provenance for a piece of art, to a ticket for access to events, there's all sorts of use cases for NFTs if one wishes to disintermediate the state in acting as the source of truth to protect against repudiation.

Hope that helps

In Singapore, I’m thinking airline miles 😝 folks are crazy about them here
