Anyone put lemon π on their steak π₯©?
Discussion
Citrus does go well with meat. Sometimes I have a squeeze of lemon on a steak just for a change. My favourite has got to be gammon and pineapple though. It's not citrus, I know, but similar result.
Heresy, all the way down! ππππ
Wife recommended and turns out good
Ok, I take some of it back. There is a simple recipe that will blow many peopleβs mind:
- Sirloin steak meat, 1.5-2 inches thick
- keep at room temperature for 5 hours
- Cook on top of the charcoal until medium rare, 4-5 minutes each side but depends on many factors. Must check color from the side to track progress and account for self-cooking after itβs removed from the heat
- No seasoning at all, just meat
- Leave it on a wooden cutting board for 10 minutes after cooking
- Slice 5-10mm thick slices
- Use wasabi, soy sauce, lemon in various combinations
- Enjoy
Make sure that you use something like an American beef, otherwise it will be too fat or lean.
